Restored vintage military aircraft from the WWII era are a frequent attraction at airshows around the world.
Due to their age and high running costs, warbirds are usually operated by civilian organizations and wealthy individuals.
In some instances, they are operated by historic arms of military forces (such as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) as a flying tribute to commemorate an aircraft or air forces involvement in the campaigns of WWII.
